Halifax Regional Police has concluded the investigation into a collision involving a Military Police vehicle that occurred last month.

On June 29 at 5:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Robie and Young Streets in Halifax. A Military Police vehicle, with its emergency equipment activated, was travelling east on Young Street through the intersection when it collided with a vehicle which was travelling north on Robie Street. The second vehicle was then struck by a third vehicle. The Military Police vehicle came to a stop after striking the deck of a residence at the corner of Robie and Young Streets.

The investigation, conducted by the Collision Investigation Unit, determined that the Military Police Officer was operating the police vehicle in a careful and prudent manner and that there were insufficient grounds to charge the driver of the second vehicle therefore, charges will not be laid in this file.
