Update: Police charge a woman and youth after weapons complaint in Dartmouth

The General Investigation Section of the Criminal Investigation Division has charged a woman and male youth following a weapons call in Dartmouth yesterday morning.   

At 11:36 a.m. on February 2, patrol officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Lakecrest Drive after a report of possible firearm in an apartment at this location. Upon arrival police arrested two people without incident. Following a search of the apartment, a sawed-off shotgun was located as well as a quantity of cocaine.

Twenty-one-year-old Cheyenne Taylor Lauzon and a 17-year old male youth, both from Dartmouth have each been charged with careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition and possession of cocaine. Lauzon is to appear in Dartmouth Provincial court later today to face these charges, and the male youth will appear in Halifax Provincial Youth Court.
