Update: Police charge man and woman in pizza shop robbery

Halifax Regional Police have charged a man and woman in connection with a robbery that occurred at a pizza shop in Dartmouth last night.  

Shortly before midnight, police were dispatched to a report of a robbery at Robert’s Pizza and Donair located at 364 Windmill Road. Upon arrival, officers located an employee who was bleeding from deep cuts to his hands and arms. He stated he was working in the restaurant when  a man and woman entered and demanded money. The man was armed with a knife and during the robbery the victim sustained cuts that required medical attention. The suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. Officers were on scene quickly, and with the help of citizens, were able to locate the suspects at an apartment building in the 0-100 block of Primrose Street in Dartmouth. Officers arrested the suspects without incident and they were held in police custody overnight.  

Officers from the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division charged 27-year-old Lemarco Sparks and 23-year-old Stephanie Nicholson, both of Dartmouth, with robbery. Sparks has also been charged with disguise with intent, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
