A man who was hit by a minivan in Dartmouth earlier this month has passed away in hospital.

On January 9, at 6:20 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision in the 200 block of Wyse Road in Dartmouth. A minivan travelling north on Wyse Road collided with a male pedestrian who was attempting to cross the road. He was not in a crosswalk. The pedestrian, 81-year-old Arthur Crann of Dartmouth, was transported to hospital by EHS with life-threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the minivan were not injured.

Yesterday, police were notified by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service of the passing of Mr. Crann. Investigators with the Collision Investigation Unit have completed their investigation and no charges will be laid in relation to this collision.

Our thoughts remain with everyone who was affected by this tragic incident
