Halifax Regional Police had previously issued a media release seeking assistance from the media and public in locating 20-year-old Owen Ross Gibson-Skeir of East Preston on an arrest warrant.
Mr. Gibson-Skeir was arrested by members of the RCMP in Cole Harbour at approximately 6:30 a.m. this morning. He is presently in custody being interviewed by investigators with the Special Enforcement Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division in relation to the noted offences. Mr. Gibson-Skeir will be remanded for the weekend and appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Monday March 21st on charges of procuring a person under the age of 18, trafficking a person under the age of 18, sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, sexual interference, assault, uttering threats, advertising sexual services, material benefit from trafficking a person under the age of 18, material benefit from sexual services and breach of probation.
