A 19-year-old man from Halifax has been charged with weapons related offences in relation to this investigation. He will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on January 31st 2017 to face charges of:
Unsafe storage of a firearm Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose Possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized Possession of a loaded restricted firearm with ammunition Unsafe storage of ammunition Possession of a firearm knowing he was not the holder of a licence

On December 31, 2016, Halifax Regional Police attended a residence in the 0-100 block of Westridge Drive shortly after 7 a.m. to execute a search warrant.
During the search a firearm was located and a 19-year-old man was arrested. He remains in police custody. The investigation is ongoing at this time and a decision on charges has not yet been determined. More information will be released when it becomes available.
