Halifax Regional Police is investigating a vehicle/pedestrian collision that occurred this morning in Dartmouth.

At 7:09 a.m., police responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision at the intersection of Pleasant Street and Acadie Street. A 39-year-old woman was crossing Pleasant Street in a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle travelling on Pleasant Street. She suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.

A 29-year-old woman was the driver of the vehicle and the incident remains under investigation.

Road safety is a shared responsibility. Motorists are reminded to slow down, pay attention and adjust their driving for the conditions. There is a crosswalk at every intersection, whether it is marked or not, and drivers must yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk.
