Just after midnight, members of the Integrated General Investigative Section, assisted by Patrol members, executed a search warrant in the 3300 block of Federal Avenue in Halifax. Seized as a result of the search was a rifle and a quantity of marihuana. A 34-year-old man arrested prior to the search at another Halifax location is scheduled to appear in court today facing weapons charges and also drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Note: there is no link between this matter and the other weapons related incidents in the city this past weekend.
