Weapons Complaint GO#21-85015

At approximately 12:40 a.m. Halifax Regional Police patrol officers were called to the area of Barrington Street and Richmond Street in Halifax for multiple concerned citizens reporting hearing multiple firearm discharges. It was reported that several shots were fired and suspects fled in vehicles and or on foot. 

Police arrived on-scene and noted that several un-occupied vehicles and a residence were struck by gunfire.

There are no indications of anyone injured as a result. A person of interest has been taken into custody near the scene as well as a vehicle of interest located.

Police have secured the area and there is no ongoing risk to the public. Traffic was closed in the immediate area of Barrington Street between Hanover Street and Duffus Street while members of the Halifax Regional Police Forensic Identification Section completed their work.
