This morning at 12:55 a.m., Halifax Regional Police officers responded to a report of a male being shot in the area of Dutch Village Road and Frederick Avenue in Halifax.
The 19-year-old victim was located at a residence in the area. He informed officers that he was sitting in his vehicle with a friend when two men approached the vehicle demanding money. A short altercation ensued and one of the suspects shot the victim in the back area. The victim’s friend drove them to an address nearby where they asked the residents to call for police and an ambulance.
The victim was taken to the QE2 hospital by ambulance with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was described by the victim as being a white man with a black goatee and wearing a black hat.
No arrests have been made at this time and officers from the Integrated General Investigation Section are continuing the investigation.
