Weather-related issues: Poor road conditions, flooding and a roof collapse

As of 11:40 a.m. on Sunday, February 15, Halifax Regional Police is dealing with several weather-related issues. We're advising people to avoid travelling if at all possible, given that driving conditions are extremely poor. Some roads are ice-covered and others are flooding with the heavy rain/snow that has fallen this morning. We have reports of motorists breaking down while trying to navigate flooded streets. Crews are working to clear roads as well as catch basins but it's a slow process.

Officers are also on scene at the Halifax Curling Club on South Bland Street in relation to a partial roof collapse under the weight of the snow. It appears the building was vacant at the time so no injuries have been reported. This matter remains under investigation.
