Halifax Regional Police responded to 705 calls for service over the weekend. One notable incident is as follows:

Police charge man with weapons and impaired operation offences

On August 24 at approximately 8:20 a.m., officers responded to a weapons complaint in the parking lot of an apartment building on Kennedy Drive in Dartmouth. It was reported that a man was yelling and waving a crowbar at residents.

Officers determined that the incident occurred after the suspect was confronted regarding his excessive use of his vehicle’s horn. During the verbal dispute, the suspect threatened the victims with the crowbar.  There were no reported physical injuries.

During the investigation, officers also determined that the license plate on the suspect’s vehicle had previously been reported as stolen.
