At 7:25 p.m., police responded to a property damage incident in-progress at the Uncommon Grounds coffee shop located at the Public Gardens on Spring Garden Road in Halifax. The witness stated that two male youths had smashed the windows at the store and then smashed a large planter in the belonging to the Public Gardens. The suspects were seen fleeing the area. Several Central Division patrol officers responded to the scene and searched the immediate area. The two suspects were located on South Park Street just south of Spring Garden Road. They were arrested and taken into custody without incident. A 15-year-old male youth from Halifax has been charged with public mischief. He has been released and will appear in court at a later date.
