(10:15 a.m.)A man faces charges after a drug search this weekend in Dartmouth.

On May 4 at 6:25 p.m., officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the 0-100 block of Lillian Drive. Officers seized a quantity of marijuana plants, hashish, cash and drug paraphernalia.

A 57-year-old Dartmouth man was arrested at the scene. He faces charges of cultivation of cannabis and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. He was released from custody and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.

Drug activity often involves violence that puts innocent citizens at risk and is detrimental to the overall safety of our communities.
