Robbery Charges

A male youth is facing charges following a robbery that occurred yesterday in Dartmouth.

At 1:17 p.m., officers responded to a walking path located off Parker Street near the Coast Guard building. A 40-year-old man was walking the path when he was approached by three male youths who produced knives and took his backpack and cell phone. Officers arrested a male youth matching the description provided by the victim in the vicinity of the robbery and he was held in custody overnight. The victim did not sustain any injuries.

A 15-year-old male youth from Dartmouth will appear in Halifax Provincial Youth Court today to face charges of robbery, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and three breaches of court orders.

 

Officers are still looking for two additional male suspects in this robbery; they are described as white and in their late teens and one of them was wearing blue shorts at the time of the incident.
