Halifax Regional Police is advising citizens of a number of residential break and enters in Dartmouth.
Over the last two weeks, four residential break and enters have occurred in the Commodore Park area on the following streets: Skeena Street, Veterans Avenue and Valleyfield Road.
The victims in the majority of these cases are seniors and most of the incidents occurred during the night while the victims were sleeping. The suspects forcibly entered the homes in each case. Investigators assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section (GIS) are exploring the possibility that these incidents may be connected and are asking for the public’s help to determine who is responsible. There is no indication at this point that the suspects are specifically targeting seniors.
Halifax Regional Police reminds citizens to ensure your doors and windows are secure and that you activate your alarm when you go out, as well as when you are home. Residents are also encouraged to call police if they observe suspicious activity.
