Investigators assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section have charged a woman following a stabbing that occurred on October 19 in Dartmouth.

At 1 a.m., police responded to an assault in progress in the 200 block of Windmill Road. Officers located a 50-year-old male victim in the stairwell of an apartment building suffering from a stab wound and other injuries stemming from being hit with a blunt object. He was transported to hospital by EHS with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect had fled the scene before police arrival and was not located. The victim and the suspect knew one another and this is not believed to be a random incident.

This morning, at 9 a.m., a 31-year-old Dartmouth woman turned herself in at police headquarters. She was arrested without incident and is facing one count each of aggravated assault, robbery and breaching a court order along with two counts each of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. She is being held in custody and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
