Monday, June 23, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – Summer weekly green cart collection across the Halifax region begins Wednesday, July 2, and will continue through the summer months until Friday, Aug. 29. This is the first year that this additional service is available to all households in the municipality.
During the months of July and August, residents can place their green cart at the curb every week, even if it’s not full. Collection services can begin as early as 7 a.m., so to ensure collection residents are encouraged to place materials at the curb the night before.
After Aug. 29, green bin collection returns to the regular two-week collection schedule. For regular collection information, residents should refer to their 2014 Organics Green Cart and Garbage Collection Schedule or visit www.halifax.ca/recycle.
