Friday, Dec. 12, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Rocky Lake Drive between Cobequid Road and Duke Street is restricted to local traffic only right now due to flooding from heavy rain.
Municipal workers are on site at the affected intersections on Rocky Lake Drive, as well as in Powder Mill Park, to help direct traffic. These restrictions will remain in place until the water levels start to recede.
Crews are also monitoring flooding in the 1700 block of Waverley Road and will put restrictions in place if the situation worsens.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and travel carefully today as the roads are wet and pooled water increases the risk of hydroplaning. The municipality apologizes for any inconvenience these traffic restrictions may cause.
