No Solid Waste Collection on Natal Day

Tuesday, July 29, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality would like to remind residents that there will be no regular municipal solid waste collection services on Natal Day, Monday, Aug. 4.

Curbside collection of garbage, organics and recyclables normally scheduled for Monday will occur on Saturday, Aug. 2.

Collection services can begin as early as 7 a.m. To ensure collection, residents may place materials at the curb on Friday evening.

Residents are also advised that the Otter Lake Waste Management Facility and the municipal recycling plant will be closed on Monday, Aug. 4, but will be open regular hours on Saturday, Aug. 2. The municipal Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Depot at 20 Horseshoe Lake Dr. will be closed on Saturday, Aug. 2, but will be open on Saturday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
