Come build your own dream castle!

Clam Harbour Beach is a long, beautiful white sand

beach within the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Each year the Clam Harbour Sandcastle Contest

attracts hundreds of contestants and thousands of

spectators.

When: Sunday, August 22, 2010 - Rain or shine!
(Beach opens at 8:00 am)
Where:  Clam Harbour Beach Provincial Park
Directions:  Located 84km from Dartmouth on Route #7  along the Eastern Shore.  Turn right at Lake Charlotte. (Webbers Store / Gas Station)

Schedule of Events (Subject to change)
8:00 am - Gate to the beach will Open / Registration Starts
9:00 am - Free Shuttle bus starts
10:00 am - Entertainment begins on the Sandcastle Stage / Displays open to the public
2:00 pm - Judging will begin
4:00 pm - Judging concludes
4:30 - Awards ceremony on the beach
6:00 - Shuttle service concludes

Transportation/Parking Info
Parking is limited at the beach so a FREE shuttle bus service will be available from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Keep an eye out for the designated bus stops along Clam Harbour Road.
NO DOGS ON THE BUSES! Only Guide or Assistant Dogs are allowed on the buses, so please leave your family pet at home!

Don't foget to vote for your favorite sandcastle. Voting station is located near the registration tent!

Registration Information to participate in the contest

Registration opens at 8:00 am. Located on the beach along side the boardwalk. Registration fee is $20 for Adults & Teams. Free for children under 12. CASH ONLY!

COMPETITION RULES
Judging begins at 2:00 pm
Prize Giving at 4:00 pm

YOU MAY USE:
Hands, and hand tools including shovels, spatulas, rakes, pails, etc.
and any natural objects found on the beach such as sand, driftwood,
shells, seaweed and rocks from the exposed beach.

YOU MAY NOT USE:
Cement, adhesive, metal or timber supports, food colouring, flags, paint
or other non-beach materials
