Apply for a Variance
A variance is permission to adjust requirements (such as lot coverage, size of yard or setbacks) beyond what the Land Use By-law allows. If you are unable to meet a specific requirement of the Land Use By-law, you may apply for a variance.

Apply for a Zoning Confirmation Letter
A zoning confirmation letter may be requested when a property is being sold.
Apply for a Construction Noise Exemption
Construction noise exemptions may be granted where construction noise is planned to take place during the prohibited hours of the N-200 By-law.
Construction Management Plan
A construction management plan is required with an application for a building permit when the structure is within 5 m of the street property line.
Planning & Development Counter has moved to Duke Tower
The Planning & Development (P&D) counter service at Bayers Rd & Alderney Gate has closed permanently. The new P&D counter is now open on the 3rd floor of Duke Tower. 5251 Duke St, Suite 300.

The municipal Customer Service Centers, located at Bayers Rd & Alderney Gate, will continue to accept payments for subdivision, site plans & planning apps.
