Motion:
That the Board of Police Commissioners approve in principle the 2018/2019 Halifax Regional Police Business Plan Deliverables as presented at the October 16, 2017 meeting, subject to final budget recommendations.

9.1.5 Public Participation at Board Meetings (Information report) [PDF]
Motion:
That the Board of Police Commissioners request that the Municipal Clerk prepare a recommendation report outlining options for public participation at Board meetings, including a jurisdictional scan of any Police Boards that hold public participation, and if so, information on their policy and process.

9.2 MEMBERS OF BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS
9.2.1 Commissioner Mason
Motion:
That the Halifax Board of Police Commissioners request a staff report that shall outline recommendations regarding:
1. entering into dialog regarding the establishment of more formal relationships regarding possible partnerships for policing, public safety and enforcement with First Nations with reserve lands adjacent to HRM; and
2. improve public safety for Indigenous people in Halifax and ensure police services meet the needs, values and expectations of Indigenous people.
  
9.2.2 Appointment of a Halifax Board of Police Commissioners representative to the Nova Scotia Association of Police Governance Board
Motion:
That the Halifax Board of Police Commissioners appoint a representative to the Nova Scotia Association of Police Governance Board, for a one year term.
