Dartmouth Canal Greenway

The Shubenacadie Canada System is a unique system of natural lakes and rivers connected by man-made locks and canals. A mutlit-year Canal Greenway project will result in the completion of an open space spine through the most urban portion of Downtown Dartmouth between Lake Banook and Halifax Harbour.

Fort Needham Park

Fort Needham Park is one of the largest public open spaces in the north end of Halifax. It provides recreational green space for local residents with a football field, backstop, tennis courts, a children’s playground and a recently added community garden. The park is also designated as an off-leash dog area.

Point Pleasant Park

Point Pleasant Park is one of the Halifax Regional Municipality's great civic places. Many people come to the park to meet the sea, many come to stroll in the forest on the numerous roads and trails, others come to enjoy the historic landscape and romantic ruins.
