Halifax Transit’s regularly scheduled service adjustments came into effect on Monday, Nov.28, 2016. Halifax Harbour Bridges has advised that it should conclude the all-weekend bridge closures by the end of December 2016. Given the timing of the reopening of the Macdonald Bridge on weekends, Halifax Transit will discontinue the current Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday daytime MacKay Bridge shuttle service. Sunday evening shuttles will continue. Routes that would normally travel via the Macdonald Bridge on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday daytime, will instead operate on detour across the MacKay Bridge until such time the Macdonald Bridge reopens on weekends. Further details here.
Bus routes that normally travel the Macdonald Bridge will no longer detour via the MacKay Bridge during the weekend Macdonald Bridge closures. These routes will instead begin and end at Scotia Square in Halifax, and the Bridge Terminal, and passengers will be required to transfer to the MacKay Bridge Shuttle that operates on scheduled service between each of those locations. This service adjustment affects the following bus routes:
-1 Spring Garden
-14 Leiblin Park
-61 North Preston/Auburn
-320 Airport/Fall River*
*Please note route 320 Airport/Fall River will continue to provide two morning peak trips from Albemarle Street to the Halifax Stanfield International Airport on Saturdays and Sundays. See the Riders’ Guide for complete schedule details.
