Deferred  Motion – June 7, 2017:
That the Transportation Standing Committee recommend that Halifax Regional Council direct staff to modify Halifax Transit Ferries and introduce rules to govern the carriage of two wheeled devices on ferries as outlined in the staff report dated April 10, 2017.

Motion:
That the Transportation Standing Committee approve the proposed 2018 meeting schedule as outlined in attachment 1 of the staff report dated November 15, 2017.

12.1.2  Pedestrian Connection, St. Margaret’s Bay [PDF]

Motion:
That the Transportation Standing Committee recommends that Halifax Regional Council direct staff to continue planning pedestrian connections from St. Margaret’s Bay Elementary to the St. Margaret’s Bay Rails to Trails and the HRM ball field, playground and Bay waterfront access as identified in the Discussion section of the staff report dated September 11, 2017, and report back to the Transportation Standing Committee with a proposed pedestrian connection.

12.1.3 One-time Redirection of Sidewalk Replacement, Renewal, and New Sidewalk Funding to Improve Key Curb Ramps [PDF]

Motion:
That the Transportation Standing Committee:
1. Not redirect funds to support a program to improve key pedestrian ramps until HRM receives further direction from the Province of Nova Scotia and the Canadian Standards Association;
2. Staff continues upgrading pedestrian ramps to the existing HRM standard in all sidewalk projects.

Motion:
That the Transportation Standing Committee receive a staff presentation respecting Transit Accessibility updates.

Motion:
That the Transportation Standing Committee:
1. Proceed to nominate one Citizen at large for consideration by Regional Council for a term to November, 2019 as outlined in attachment 1 of the private and confidential staff report dated November 14, 2017.
2. Proceed to nominate one Senior for consideration by Regional Council for a term to November, 2019 as outlined in attachment 1 of the private and confidential staff report dated November 14, 2017.
3. It is further recommended that the private and confidential staff report dated November 14, 2017 not be released to the public.
