NORTH WEST COMMUNITY COUNCIL

On May 12, 2025, North West Community Council approved the application to enter into a development agreement at 893 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville.

Request

Sightline Planning & Approvals, on behalf of property owner Rysco Properties Inc., is applying to enter into a development agreement to allow a mixed-use development at 893 Sackville Drive, Middle Sackville.

Proposal

The applicant wishes to build a mixed-use development made up of one 5-storey building. The major aspects of the proposal are as follows:

  • One 5-storey building with 47 residential units;
  • Approximately 1275 square feet of ground floor commercial space;
  • Shared amenity space for residents; and,
  • One level of underground parking and one surface parking lot;

The Development Plans (provided below) outline the development proposal in detail, and include information related to proposed buildings, amenity spaces, parking locations, driveway access, and landscaping.
 

Process

The application will be considered under the Development Agreement Process.

TAKE NOTICE THAT North West Community Council did, on Monday, May 12, 2025, approve the following:

PLANAPP 2023-00287 - Application by Sightline Planning & Approvals, on behalf of property owner Rysco Properties Inc., is applying to enter into a development agreement at 893 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville.

Any aggrieved person, the Provincial Director of Planning, or the Council of any adjoining municipality may, within fourteen days of the publishing of this notice on the HRM website, appeal to the Nova Scotia Regulatory and Appeals Board (902.424.4448), in accordance with the provisions of the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter.

This notice was posted to this site on May 13, 2025 in accordance with the requirements of the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter.

The applicant has submitted plans and studies required by HRM staff to properly evaluate the application. The documents are also available for review at the Planning Applications office at 5251 Duke St, 3rd Floor, Suite 300, Duke Tower, Halifax.
