The Affordable Housing Association of Nova Scotia (AHANS), has applied to rezone the lands and enter into a development agreement for the development of a mixed-use building.

Proposal

The applicant has requested to rezone the lands from Planned Unit Development (PUD) and to enter into a development agreement in order to allow for the development of a 6-storey mixed-use building with residential dwelling units and commercial space at ground floor level. The major aspects of the proposal are as follows:

  • Six-storey mixed-use building;
  • Direct ingress/egress driveway at Sackville Drive;
  • 81 residential units;
  • 45 square metres commercial space at grade floor;
  • 1030.95 square metres total amenity space; 490 square metres outdoor amenity space;
  • 68 below grade and 28 surface vehicle parking spaces; 33 sheltered and 8 unsheltered bicycle parking spaces.

The Development Plans (provided below) outline the development proposal in detail, and include information related to location of the proposed building, parking locations, driveway access, elevations, floor plans, landscaping, amenity spaces and preliminary servicing.

Process

The application will be considered under the Rezoning and Development Agreement Process 

Status

This application is currently in the public engagement stage and staff are now accepting feedback from the public regarding the proposed development.
