We are pleased that, through this rebate, installing innovative solar energy options will become more accessible. This is an exciting initiative that we hope will incentivize solar PV installations throughout Nova Scotia and will complement Halifax’s Solar City Program.

Common Questions
Where is the rebate coming from?
The rebate is funded federally through the Low Carbon Economy Fund and administered by Efficiency Nova Scotia.
Am I eligible?
The Solar City office will work with you to ensure confirm whether the proposed system meets the SolarHomes eligibility criteria.
Can I combine the rebate and Halifax’s Solar City financing?
Yes, you can. In fact, the two programs are very similar in terms of process. By leveraging Solar City financing you don’t have to worry about obtaining the upfront capital if you own your property. The municipality pays the contractor directly and you obtain a rebate to reduce your repayments.
