On January 29, at 9:55 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to a collision involving a vehicle into a building at Langbrae Drive and Parkland Drive in Halifax. Officers located a small vehicle that had left the road, struck a fence, then a small tree then was launched in the air striking an apartment building on Parkland Drive about 4 feet above ground level. The accident caused structural damage to the apartment building. Regional Fire Service evacuated the affected units. The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old woman from Halifax, was transported to the QE2 with non life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing but it appears that speed and alcohol were factors in the collision.
