14-14086 Car/Pedestrian Collision

On Janaury 30, at 7:37 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to a car-pedestrian Collision on Barrington Street near Upper Water Street. The driver, a 24-year-old woman, was traveling North bound when she truck a man that had stepped into the roadway. The man fell to the ground and was taken to the QE2 with serious injuries. At the time of the collision the man was dressed in dark clothing, stepped into the road and was not in a crosswalk. The pedestrian, a 61-year-old man was issued a Summary Offence Ticket for crossing the roadway outside of a crosswalk zone failing to yield to traffic and a Criminal Code breach charge for which he will attend court at a later date.
