On the evening of March 27, 2015 at approximately 8:25 p.m., a Halifax Regional Police officer was doing a routine function check of a firearm inside a police station. The officer had the firearm pointed in a safe direction and the firearm accidentally discharged one round. No one was harmed as a result of the discharge. The officer immediately contacted his Supervisors. The incident is being investigated internally.
