On April 16, at 3 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to the Ultramar gas station located at 219 Pleasant Street in Dartmouth for a report of a robbery. A man entered the store, indicated he had a weapon and demanded cash and cigarettes. He was given an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes and fled on foot. A K-9 unit attended and tracked the suspect to a residence on Cusack Street a short distance from the Ultramar. Officers apprehended the suspect inside the residence and recovered the stolen items.
A 20-year-old man from Dartmouth will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court later today to face robbery charges.
