Officers are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who approached a young girl this morning in Halifax.

At 7:55 a.m., a 9-year-old girl was walking on Greystone Drive by Orange Walk on her way to take a school bus when a man in a car pulled up next to her. He rolled down the passenger side window and offered to drive her to school. The girl declined the offer, ran away and immediately reported the incident to an adult. She was not assaulted or physically injured. This incident was reported to police later this afternoon.

The suspect is described as a black man in his twenties. At the time of the incident, he was driving a small black car.

Officers would like to speak to this man about this incident. Citizens are asked to report any similar incidents to police by calling 902-490-5020.
