On May 18, at 7:40 p.m., Halifax Regional responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Pine Street and Dahlia Street in Dartmouth. A car with five occupants travelling on Pine Street was struck by a truck proceeding in an easterly direction on Dahlia Street. One female passenger from the car was taken to the hospital for assessment by EHS. While officers were on scene, a second passenger, a 42-year-old woman confronted the male driver of the truck. She was detained by officers while the investigation was being conducted and she was subsequently released with no charges. The 53-year-old male driver of the truck has been issued a Summary Offence ticket, Section 122(1) of the Motor Vehicle Act for failing to yield to a vehicle already in an intersection.
