Officers with the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section have laid additional charges in connection with a double stabbing incident that occurred this past weekend in Halifax.

On May 10, at 12:10 a.m., officers responded to report of a stabbing in the 100 block of Jarvis Lane. Upon arrival, officers located a 19-year-old man with numerous stab wounds to his torso. He was taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. It was determined that the man was involved in an altercation with another man at a different address on Jarvis Lane. A short time later, a 31-year-old man was arrested without incident on Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth. He had also been stabbed and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Subsequent investigation revealed that the men had stabbed each other during the altercation and the 19-year-old man was arrested this morning after he was released from hospital yesterday. This was not a random incident as both men are known to each other.

Nineteen-year-old Shakur Oshay Jefferies and 31-year-old Devlin Sinclair Bundy are each facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. They were both held in custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court later today.
