Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that a section of Argyle Street in downtown Halifax will be closed to traffic for a two-week period starting this weekend to accommodate construction at an adjacent work site.

Argyle will shut down between Prince Street and Sackville Street at 7 a.m. this Saturday, Oct. 3, and remain closed until about 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16. The street will not reopen overnight or on the weekends during that time.

During this closure, the contractor is required to keep the sidewalk along Argyle Street open for pedestrians, as well as the section of Sackville Street between Grafton Street and Argyle for vehicles. Crews will also accommodate access for deliveries to businesses along Argyle, as needed.

Motorists are advised to find alternative routes for the duration of this closure. The municipality regrets any inconvenience this may cause.
