Arrest in Kevin Bowser homicide

A man wanted in connection with the homicide of Kevin Bowser has been arrested this morning.

On July 10, 2004, at approximately 10 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting near 5450 Uniacke Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers located 28-year-old Kevin James Bowser, in front of 5446 Uniacke Street, suffering from gunshot wounds. Kevin was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. On July 14, 2014, a Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued for 31-year-old Shilo Marcino Beals of Cherry Brook. He is facing charges of first degree murder and six weapons-related offences.

Earlier today, Officers of the Nottawasaga Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Emergency Response Teams, a K-9 Unit and Provincial Repeat Offenders Parole Enforcement (ROPE) arrested Shilo Marcino Beals at a residence located on Highway 89 in New Tecumseth, Ontario. He will appear in the Criminal Court of Justice in Barrie, Ontario later today for a bail hearing. Investigators with the Major Crime Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division will travel to Ontario in the coming days to return the accused to Nova Scotia to answer to these charges.
