November 14 at 9:05 p.m. Halifax Regional Police officers responded to an assault call on Barrington Street near Cornwallis Street. The victim, a 27-year-old man, was walking on Barrington Street when he encountered a group of men, some of whom were known to him. An altercation ensued and the victim was assaulted by 3 men from this group. During the assault the victim was struck in the head with a brick. The 3 suspects were quickly located in the area and taken in to custody. The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for a laceration to his head and subsequently released. The 3 suspects, ages of 26, 28 and 41, are currently in police custody and will be appearing in Halifax Provincial Court later today to face charges of assault with a weapon.
