At 9:27 p.m. on April 18, police attended the corner of Quinpool Road and Oxford Street in Halifax for a report of a man armed with a knife. Police determined that two men, not known to each other, had gotten into a verbal dispute at the bus stop at this location. The dispute turned physical and one of the men pulled a knife on the other one stabbing him in the hand. While the victim of the stabbing was holding down the man with the knife, a second man began punching him.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, was transported to hospital with a non-life-threatening injury to his hand. He has since been treated and released.

A 25-year-old man and a 51-year-old man were taken into custody by police and charges are anticipated.
