Attempted Robbery : Central Division

On March 24, at 3:25 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a robbery at the Needs Convenience Store, 6130 Chebucto Road in Halifax. A man entered the store and demanded cash from the female employee. The employee did not give the suspect anything and he left the store on foot. She was not injured during this incident. A short while later at 3:53 a.m. police responded to a report of theft of gas from the Ultramar station, at 280 Lacewood Drive in Halifax. A vehicle was located on Joseph Howe Drive and a man was arrested without incident. It is believed this man is also responsible for the attempted robbery. A 39-year-old man is currently in police custody. The investigation is continuing and charges are anticipated.
