Friday, August 22, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Birch Cove Beach in Dartmouth has reopened for swimming. Tests last week showed high bacteria levels, but tests done today show that the water is once again safe, as per Health Canada guidelines. Employees regularly test the water quality at its supervised municipal beaches.
