Friday, May 1, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Briar Lane in Halifax will continue to be closed to pedestrians and traffic for a few more months to ensure the public’s safety during ongoing demolition work inside the old CBC Radio building at 5600 Sackville St.

Briar Lane, between Sackville and Annandale streets, has been closed since early March when the demolition work began. The street will continue to be closed to all traffic until Friday, July 31. The street will not reopen on nights or weekends during that time.

Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency Services are aware of the closure and are able to access buildings in the area via Annandale Street, if an emergency should arise.

Motorists are encouraged to find alternative routes. The sidewalks along Sackville Street will remain open for pedestrians to detour around the closure. The municipality apologizes for any inconvenience this closure may cause.
