Officers with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have laid charges in connection with a stabbing that occurred last night in Dartmouth.

At 8:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence in the 0-100 block of Farrell Street in Dartmouth. Police located a 41-year-old man suffering from non-life threatening stab wounds. A woman was arrested at the scene and the weapon believed to have been used was recovered. The victim was transported to hospital by EHS and later released. This was not a random incident as the suspect and the victim are known to each other.

A 28-year-old woman was held in custody overnight. She will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and breach of previously imposed court conditions.
