Charges laid in two separate drug searches

Three people face charges in relation to two separate drug searches conducted yesterday.

At 9 p.m., officers assigned to the Integrated Drug Unit of the Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 500 block of Herring Cove Road in Halifax. Officers seized a quantity of marijuana, prescription medication, drug paraphernalia and cash. Thirty-year-old Ryan Anthony Boudreau was arrested at the scene and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of breaching a previously imposed court order.

At 11:30 p.m., officers assigned to the Halifax Regional Police Quick Response Unit executed another search warrant at an apartment in the 0-100 block of Portland Street in Dartmouth. They seized a quantity of crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash. A man and a woman were arrested at the scene without incident. Fifty-three-year-old Larry Lynn Borden is facing a charge of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and a charge of breaching a previously imposed court order. Forty-four-year-old Nancy Francine Chambers is facing a charge of possession of a controlled substance and a charge of breaching her probation. They were both held overnight and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
