A man faces charges after a search in Halifax by the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.
On April 2, ICE investigators conducted a search of a residence in the 0-100 block of Covington Way. Officers arrested a suspect at the scene and seized computer equipment. The suspect was later released from custody to appear in court at a later date. The information was sworn in court yesterday.
Forty-year-old Michael Dow Brown is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on May 14, 2015, to face one count each of possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography. He was released from custody under conditions to not communicate with children under the age of 16, not possess a device able to access the internet and not be within 50 meters of a place frequented by children.
