The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that a contractor will be conducting geotechnical survey work on Chocolate Lake from July 15 to 18, in support of the future rehabilitation or replacement of the Chocolate Lake Dam.
A floating platform with geotechnical survey equipment will be on Chocolate Lake throughout this period, with work taking place daily between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The contractor will have environmental and safety protections in place while this work is underway.
This work will not impact access to Chocolate Lake or activities at Chocolate Lake Beach.
Travaux de relevé géotechnique à Chocolate Lake
La Municipalité régionale d’Halifax informe les résidents qu’un entrepreneur effectuera des travaux de relevé géotechnique à Chocolate Lake du 15 au 18 juillet, en soutien à la future réhabilitation ou remplacement du barrage de Chocolate Lake.
Une plateforme flottante munie d’équipement d’étude géotechnique sera présente sur Chocolate Lake pendant toute cette période, et les travaux auront lieu chaque jour entre 7 h et 19 h.
L’entrepreneur mettra en place des mesures de protection environnementale et de sécurité pendant la durée des travaux.
