The meetings will focus on discussing how the draft Centre Plan will affect future development within the Regional Centre. Residents are invited to join their neighbours and the Centre Plan project team, at one of the following community events:

Wednesday, Nov. 9, 6-8 p.m. Mic Mac Amateur Aquatic Club 192 Prince Albert Road, Dartmouth

Monday, Nov. 14, 6 -8 p.m. Shirley Burnstein Hall, Edward L Roach Building Northwood Centre, 2615 Northwood Drive, Halifax

Thursday, Nov. 17, 6-8 p.m. Dalhousie University Student Union Building, McInnes Room 6136 University Avenue, Halifax

The Centre Plan will serve as a blueprint for smart development by providing much needed clarity on how and where growth should occur in the Regional Centre. The draft plan released on Oct. 26, 2016, will be available for comments until early Dec. to allow the time for thoughtful, considered review and public input in relation to each section of the plan.

The Centre Plan will be the municipality’s first comprehensive plan in several decades to guide development in the Regional Centre, which encompasses the Halifax Peninsula and the area of Dartmouth inside the Circumferential Highway. The Planning and Development team has been working with the community on the Centre Plan since 2015, and the work has been shaped by what residents have said is most important to them.
