Death Ruled Homicide/Victim Identified

The death of a man who died after being assaulted on Argyle Street this morning has been ruled a homicide.

At 3:49 a.m., police responded to a disturbance in the area of Argyle and Sackville Streets. Responding officers located a man lying on the ground. He was transported to hospital where he passed away a short time later. The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Kaylin Todd Diggs of Halifax.

The investigation has determined that Kaylin was walking on Argyle Street heading south when an altercation took place that resulted in him being assaulted and knocked to the ground. The investigation is in its early stages and officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit are looking to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident.
