Driver charged for failing to yield to pedestrian in a crosswalk GO# 21-117761

On September 24 at 5:23 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to the area of 330 Herring Cove Road in Halifax. 

A pedestrian was being treated by members of the public who had stopped to help prior to EHS. The driver was on scene and an investigation concluded that they failed to stop for the pedestrian while in a crosswalk exhibiting flashing amber lights.

A ticket under the Motor Vehicle Act was issued to the driver under section 125-1 of that act, for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

The pedestrian was injured. The injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
